Rebranded ‘The Performance Academy’, the change in image and name is an exciting development for the company that started in 2005 as a division providing IT training for Taylor Made customers and technicians on the use of applications and technical systems.

Miles Henson and Philip Ferrar joined the division in 2008 after 3 successful years, and developed the business, pursuing a mantra of Developing People and Performance.

Using Thomas International’s PPA analysis tool as a method of helping clients understand how individuals in their organisations behave, communicate and interact with one another, their success really took the training division to great new heights. Having won business from, and working with companies such as, Baxter Healthcare, CSL Behring, BMW, HSBC, Doosan, various council and Government bodies to name a few, The Performance Academy is on target to deliver its stated aims.

The Performance Academy, trading as a stand alone company from Taylor Made, will focus on delivering world-class people, team and corporate strategic development both for UK and international organisations.

Nigel Taylor, Managing Director of Taylor Made Computer Solutions commented, “I am absolutely delighted that Phil and Miles have been able to take this division and make it literally world class. There is now no holding them back on the scope of what they can do, and who they will deal with, and I believe the rebranding really reflects the focus of this business both now and in the future.”

Miles Henson, the new Managing Director of The Performance Academy, added “Taylor Made Training Solutions has given us the perfect platform to launch The Performance Academy from, and we now have the opportunity to build upon the excellent reputation that Taylor Made has.

In the current economic climate, we passionately believe that now is the time for organisations to invest in their people, as they need to achieve more with less. Now is the time to invest in the things that really matter.

To say the excitement is palpable is an understatement as we move this business to an expanding arena. We will continue to work closely with Nigel and the team at Fareham, and are really looking forward to establishing The Performance Academy as a brand known for quality and delivery of results.”

Defending Champions, the Hampshire Royals topped the South group this season and earnt this home quarter final draw and having so far been undefeated at home in the competition this was always going to be a tough ask for the Durham Dynamos.

As it happened, although the Royals – having won the toss and electing to bat – got off to a terrible start, the game was never really in doubt when they posted 154-6 in their 20 overs. The Royals spin trio of Alfridi, Tahir and Briggs strangled the life out of the Dynamos on a turning pitch and young Danny Briggs went on to record career best figures of 5-19.

Once again Taylor Made, the official IT partner to the Rose Bowl and the Hampshire Royals, are delighted to be associated with such a successful team and wish them all the best in the Final.

The Rose Bowl, where Taylor Made are IT provider and an official partner, has proven something of a fortress for the Hampshire Royals this season, where they have been undefeated so far in the competition ans whoever they are drawn against in the quarter final will not relish the trip down to the South Coast.

But what makes them so different isn’t to be found under the bonnet. On the bodywork is a barcode which can be scanned with a mobile phone. This allows anyone interested in finding out more about the company to gain inmediate access to its website, or to send an email or to automatically make a call.

The innovative Quick Response (QR) code technology has veen added to the Taylor Made fleet of sign-written cars and vans to provide instant access to information about its products and services.

QR codes are visually similar to the traditional barcode but they can hold significantly more information.

“What this technology does is to extend a company’s marketing reach, particularly with the increasing popularity of social media and the ability to share and bookmark information online,” explained Managing Director Nigel Taylor.

“On average our cars will cover a total of 95000 miles within the Solent region every month visiting our customers’ sites. QR codes are an excellent tool at a time where differentiation is key – especially for businesses looking to drive new business to their websites without additional investment by simply integrating them into existing print media such as flyer, posters or even cars!”

The evening was attended by squad members of Portsmouth Football Club as well as an array of the region’s sporting talent, all hoping to win one of the evening’s prestigious awards.

The ‘Best One-Off Performance’ was won by Hampshire Cricket Academy all-rounder Robert Gibson, who has been supported by Taylor Made for several years.

Robert won his award for producing a stunning all round performance playing for Hampshire Under 16s against Somerset Under 16s on the Nursery Ground at the Rose Bowl last season, where he proceeded to hit a brilliant unbeaten 201, including a six and 24 fours before then running through the Somerset batting order, taking five for 65 with his leg-spin.

Robert recieved his award from Pompey player Guy Whittingham. With Hampshire opener Jimmy Adams winning the Sportsman of the Year Award for his part in Hampshire’s Twenty20 winning season it proved to be a good night for Taylor Made sponsored Hampshire Cricket Club.

Training suppliers Advanced Resource Managers (ARM) and Taylor Made Training Solutions (TMTS) have announced a strategic alliance that will enable both to focus on their core areas of expertise.

As from 1st April 2011 ARM, already one of the UK’s major training suppliers, will become the preferred provider of Applications Training for TMTS and its customers, allowing TMTS to focus on a core business of developing people and performance.

ARM, a growing presence in the Applications Training market, will provide a one-stop solution for Applications training as well as business-based training such as Prince2 and ITIL. ARM will deliver this through its ARM Consulting brand, a division of the business which supplies a suite of human capital management services beyond “traditional” recruitment.

“This is an obvious business step for two successful companies that have similar ethics and compatible skill sets; there is no doubt that both Taylor Made and our customers will benefit going forward,” says Nigel Taylor, Taylor Made Computer Solutions.

TMTS’s Scot Newing will transfer to ARM in a Training Sales role and will ensure that the transition for TMTS’ customers is seamless. Scot will bring many years experience of training sales to the team and will help us to continue our growth and service offering.

“Our alliance with Taylor Made gives ARM clients even wider access to high quality IT training, particularly in the areas of Microsoft technical and IT user training,” says ARM MD Mike Gawthorne.

For clients coming over from Taylor Made, they will gain access to our massive pool of high quality, competitively-priced training subject areas. These include:

ARM’s Training department is a dedicated team of professionals providing a high level of customer service and a ‘one stop shop’ for training courses, tailored in-house training, training needs analysis, consultancy, training books, CD’s, e-learning, and also support and forum events for Learning and Development Managers.

Martin Grady is the Director of ARM Consulting.

“To me this is the next step in expanding the portfolio of services and training we offer to our clients,” he said. “I’m really excited about the implications our working with Taylor Made has both for our customers and for us”.
